Time To Motivate Your Staff!

Uncategorized · January 15, 2013

Winter can be a pretty depressing time. You travel to work, it’s dark; you leave work, it’s dark. The only light you see these days is through your office window. Harrowing stuff. But don’t worry; there is a solution! What you need to do is get your staff motivated, and they’ll soon forget about the cold outdoors. But how? From hospitality events and incentives, to extra training and staff nights out, we’re here to provide you with all the answers you need to transform your employees into happy workers.

Out of Office

A good way to encourage team spirit is to remove your staff from the office environment and to involve them in social activities outside of work. Taking employees away from their desks and allowing them the chance to get to know each other is a great means of boosting morale, so it’s well worth considering!

If you have an existing corporate hospitality package, such as Manchester United sports hospitality, which you use to entertain your client, why not use this to treat your staff? By providing incentives during winter you can keep your staff motivated right up to Christmas.

Another way to keep staff happy is by improving the social side to work. Try to organise more company parties and events; this is guaranteed to make people feel more positive about their job.

In Office

Although out of office activity is important, what you do within the office is equally essential. It’s crucial for to be enthusiastic and passionate about what they do, as this can affect the way your staff approach their work. Extra training is an additional aspect that can keep employees motivated; if they feel they know more about their job then they will be more confident in what they produce. However, one factor which employers can’t neglect is to praise their staff for good work and improvements. Rewarding and acknowledging workers for their achievements lets them know that they are appreciated for what they do, and therefore inspire them to excel further.

Extras

As you can see, the general working environment is integral to creating good feeling for members of staff.  However, it’s also true that employees do tend to work better if there are other perks to the job. Why not consider adding some incentives? These would not only generate healthy competition in the office, but it would also make staff feel as if they have gained something for all their hard work; the perfect way to ensure happy workers.
