Sunday Funday: Weekly Recap and A Look Ahead

Uncategorized · June 10, 2012

It was an incredible week for both sports and the economy. I couldn’t have asked for more excitement.

The Sports

  • Lebron continued in beast-mode fashion to torch the Celtics (although the series was extremely entertaining). The Heat/Thunder series should be a high-flying finale.
  • The French Open will continue play tomorrow with Djokovic/Nadal battling (like they always do).
  • Anytime countries are in combat, I tend to watch. The UEFA cup is a spectacle everyone should tune into.

The Economy

  • US stocks are coming off their best week of 2012 and should continue to ride this wave into Monday. Eurozone finance ministers agreed to lend Spain up to 100 billion euros to help out the banks.

The Blogosphere

I was much more active this past week when it comes to reading other blogs. There were a number of phenomenal posts but I can’t possibly highlight them all. My “article of the week” isn’t actually an article at all (5 A’s in a row – whoa!).

I recommend everyone visit My University Money to read their E-book on ETF Investing. With the increase in popularity of these investments, I suggest you read this ASAP.

Important Disclosure

I'm a big believer in transparency. As such, you should know that I make money from this blog. Weird, I know. The way I make money is simple: I occasionally link to products and companies that I believe provide tremendous value. If you choose to sign up, I may receive a small payout. This payout comes at no additional cost to you and, trust me, it's small. I'm in no position to quit my day job. Please do not spend any money on these products unless you feel you need them or that they will help you achieve your goals.
