Future of Funancials: Blog Goals

Blogging · September 11, 2011

At the beginning of this month I posted my first blog update. To follow up, I wanted to let everyone inside my head on what I hope to achieve this month.

Alexa

The Yakezie Challenges you to drop your Alexa Ranking below 200k in 6 months. My goal is to hit this number in 2 months. Finishing last month at 485k and currently sitting at 326k means there is some ground to cover; however, using my extraordinary extrapolation skills – I should be on pace.

Alexa as of Sept 1 – 485k

Alexa as of today – 326k

Alexa goal – 200k

Remember, if you’re reading this post and you don’t have the ‘little blue a’ in the top right of your browser, SHAME ON YOU! You can download the alexa toolbar for free here.

Visitors

Since Alexa measures visitors to a website, it’s only appropriate that I announce how many visitors I’m expecting this month. Last month I quintupled my visitors – not extremely difficult to go from 1 to 5, is it?

For some odd reason my extraordinary extrapolation skills aren’t working. It looks like I’m set to surpass August but I’m behind pace on my goal. The only one to blame for this is you. Why aren’t you reading?

Website

I haven’t posted the past few days because much of my time has been devoted to the site’s appearance. I am in the process of leaving Tumblr and migrating to WordPress (starting with .com and then shifting to self-hosted). I really like the social aspect of Tumblr (reblogging) but the customization on WordPress is more to my liking.

Content

I will begin a different posting schedule moving forward (no posting schedule actually existed until now). My plan is to post 2-4 “interesting” thought-provoking posts in the realm of personal finance, economics, business and/or our glorious government. I still want “non-experts” to visit my site, so in between I will post answers to common questions (ideally questions one would type into google). Example: What is the difference between interest rate and APR?

I think everyone will really like the new look on wordpress (expect funancials.biz to be redirected in a few days).

There is a naked young lady beside me speaking jibberish which means one thing…must stop blogging.

Important Disclosure

I'm a big believer in transparency. As such, you should know that I make money from this blog. Weird, I know. The way I make money is simple: I occasionally link to products and companies that I believe provide tremendous value. If you choose to sign up, I may receive a small payout. This payout comes at no additional cost to you and, trust me, it's small. I'm in no position to quit my day job. Please do not spend any money on these products unless you feel you need them or that they will help you achieve your goals.
