It’s been a little over a week since I got engaged and the planning has already begun. Even the easiest of tasks has turned stressful. How many groomsmen should I have? How many is too many? Do you put more weight on past friendships or current friendships? As a guy this shouldn’t be stressful at all, but I’m handling it like a little girl.
Speaking of little girls, did you all see Mario Chalmers?
The Sports
Although I was cheering for the Oklahoma City Thunder, I’m happy for Lebron. He is unbelievable. I’m trying to remember the “greatness” so that, years from now, I can answer distinctly when my son asks what it was like (watching Lebron). I’ve never seen a player so unstoppable when attacking the rim.
In a side note, I’m not sure what sports I’m going to focus on now. Since watching baseball is unbearable, maybe I’ll tune into the WNBA. I suppose soccer will lead into the Olympics which will lead into football.
The Economy
It was a wild week in the markets. The S & P dropped over 2% Thursday on signs of a global manufacturing slowdown before a slight rebound began on Friday. There is still a lot of focus on Europe at this point. What grabbed my attention, though, occurred in the US (which inspired an upcoming post) when Moody’s downgraded the ratings of 15 major banks.
