Emergency Funds Are Overrated – Explained

by A Blinkin on October 27, 2011

I don’t want you all to think less of me. How could the Michael Jordan of Money dish out poor financial advice to his readers? It wasn’t intentional. I simply want to challenge the way you think.

Who Was I Targeting?

Maybe I should get to know my readers better, know exactly who I’m speaking to. According to Alexa.com my audience (based on averages) is visited frequently by females who are in the age range 25-34, have no children, are college educated and browse from home. If this were true, I would’ve expected more nudey pics from my first free giveaway. (frown)

The message that emergency funds are overrated was more intended for a different audience, an audience that most likely will never stumble upon my site.

Yo’ Mama

Odds are I wasn’t targeting you. I was targeting your mother. I was targeting your grandmother.

Far too often I see people paralyzed by what-ifs. What if this emergency happens…What if that thing goes wrong? What if my car breaks down and I’m forced to repair it?

Well, what if it does? Fix it.

But don’t let your pile of improbabilities prevent you from doing anything at all.

Sorry grandma – I still love you.

Lol apparently I am your target audience to a T. But this is my first time to the site so maybe it doesn’t count. :)

If there was an awards category for “Best Featured Picture In a Personal Finance Post” then this picture would have to be in the running. Love the in-depth analysis on who your readers are!

I’m working on becoming Most Controversial. Perez Hilton meets Personal Finance.
